North Cornwall Cluster of Churches

The Seventh Sunday of Easter 24th May

Additional Collect

Risen ascended Lord,
as we rejoice at your triumph,
fill your Church on earth with power and compassion,
that all who are estranged by sin
may find forgiveness and know your peace,
to the glory of God the Father, Amen

Holy Habits – Prayer

Habitual prayer Read Daniel 6.10-12
Consider ways to make prayer habitual and continuous throughout this day. You might like to use prompts such as making the times you boil the kettle to make drinks a reminder to pray. Or you could set your watch for each hour. Determine to pray as often as you can today – on your knees, like Daniel, if possible.

Sunday Services

The church continues to be alive and active, but our buildings must remain closed.
We are recording short services in different styles and uploading these to our facebook group and YouTube (via our website

Sunday 24th May: The Seventh Sunday of Easter 11am – Taize Prayer led by Elizabeth Wild

Sunday 31st May: Pentecost 6am-6pm – Day of Prayer and Fasting 11am – Pentecost Worship led by Geraldine Ashton 5.30pm – Zoom Meeting to share and break our fast together
The Julian Group and anyone who would like to join us, meets each in our own home at 7pm every Thursday. We light a candle and read a passage from the Bible followed by silence. Then we read the second passage followed by silence and ending with Compline or our own prayers. Different members choose the readings each week. This Thursday 28th May they are Isaiah 40. 1-4 and Proverbs 19. V 2.
Also suggested those taking part might like to end with the Universal Blessing which can be found on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUtll3mNj5U
Home Groups and Daily Prayer Our Home Groups are staying in touch via phone, email and social media. We are praying regularly, especially at 9am. If you would like hard copies of spiritual resources, or need help getting on to facebook, please contact
Revd Rose (01208 592353 – revrosejones@gmail.com).
Worship and prayer at home We have updated a section of the website with a variety of resources to help people worship and pray from home: http://www.northcornwallclusterofchurches.org.uk/worship-from-home/. If you know of someone who would appreciate any of these printed and posted to them, do let us know.
Day of Prayer & Fasting. Pentecost. 31st May This Pentecost we are suggesting that as a cluster we set aside a whole day to fast and pray for ourselves, our families and friends, our church, our community, our nation, our world. With the expectation that God will meet us and pour out his Holy Spirit as he did on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).
Our day of prayer and fasting will be held on Sunday 31st May, it will begin at 6am and continue until 6pm. Services and resources will be available throughout the day, more information will be given in the newsletter.

Everyone is welcome to join us and we hope you will be blessed by it.

Cluster Zoom Meetings

We have started to meet together for fellowship through Zoom. Zoom is an internet based video conferencing tool that allows a host to invite others to a virtual meeting using a computer, laptop or iphone. Our host for the cluster is Rev’d Geraldine. Zoom is very easy to use and help is available to get you started.  David Foster and Marcus Jones have kindly offered to do some one to one teaching sessions over the phone. Everybody is welcome to attend a zoom meeting and it is a lovely way to see each other in this time of social distancing, just let Geraldine know if you are interested and she will invite you along. Revd Geraldine Ashton – 07957 609085 / gezzalou@aol.com

Please pray for

The sick, among them Claudia Tom, Rosalind Smith & Jane Windeler and all affected by the coronavirus.

Pray for the NHS and all front line workers and volunteers.

Remember all those who have died recently including Judith Swatland. We remember those whose anniversary of death occurs at this time including Geoff Burton and Beryl Mills.

Taking it in turns to pray for each other – this week we pray for St Endellion.

Diary Dates & News

Summer Fetes Sadly all of the summer fetes have been affected by the coronavirus precautions. The St James’ Fete at St Kew, which would have been in July, has been postponed until later in the year.
The St Minver Fete and the St Endellion and St Peter’s, Port Isaac Fete, which would have been in August, have been cancelled.
We look forward to being able to gather again in our communities when it is safe.
