Holy Habits – Bible Study
Did you ever try and start to read the whole bible in a year (week one suggestion)? It is a big ask. Well for mere mortals how about following on from each Sundays readings by re reading them during the week. The Lectionary works over a three cycle with and the three readings and the psalm will take you through a large part of your bible. You can use the Lectio Divina method to help you (see last week). Or use this method read the passage and mark with a ! something that surprises you, is new to you, a * by something that speaks to you personally and a ? by something that puzzles you.
What to do then? Pray it through and why not share it with somebody (a bible buddy!).
Following the government announcement about a further national lockdown, sadly we will not be offering public worship, baptisms or weddings until things improve.
All of our worship will be online, available each Sunday on the website, our facebook group and YouTube. For more details please see our Coronavirus update page.

The readings at 7pm on Thursday 28th January, reflect the fact that we will be in the Week for Christian Unity. They are: Psalm 133 and Ephesians 4. VV 1-3 and 11-14.
Please pray for
The sick, among them Anthony Gibson Watt and all affected by the coronavirus.
Pray for the NHS, care workers and all front line workers and volunteers. We pray for race equality and for all victims of race crime and brutality. Pray for everyone spending Christmas on their own or unable to be with their family.
Remember all those who have died recently including Garry Cooper. We remember those whose anniversary of death occurs at this time including Tony Bowden, Keith Williams, Paula Clarke. Barbara Whitford, Clarence Smith.
Taking it in turns to pray for each other – this week we pray for St Minver.

The Bible Course
An eight-session course helping you explore the world’s bestseller.
The Bible is a big and complicated book to read and for many it can be difficult to know where to start. Maybe you’ve been part of a Bible study group and want to build your confidence so you can study the Bible on your own, or maybe you need help connecting together the bits you’ve been reading. The Bible Course is a great resource, whether you are familiar with the Bible or just starting out.
The Bible Course helps you see how the books of the Bible are part of one big story.
Using a unique storyline, The Bible Course will show you how key events, books and characters fit together.
The video teaching, course guide and daily readings will help you grow in confidence as you read the Bible for yourself.
Acts as a great follow-on resource for those who have done introductory courses like Alpha and Christianity Explored.
This is an online course via zoom, which is very easy to use and you will be sent a link each week to join the group from the comfort of your own home.
We will start on Tuesday evenings from 26th January

A message from Revd Rose Jones
A big thank you to all those who have been praying for me while I have been unwell. I am now much better and pleased to be back, initially part-time. Although we’re now in lockdown, I’m looking forward to worshipping with you all virtually and catching up with people online and over the phone!
Goods for St Petrocs
As it is not possible to have collection boxes in the churches at the moment this is a reminder that St. Minver Post Office is an alternative collecting point.
