Sunday 21st February –
The First Sunday of Lent

Additional Collect

Heavenly Father,
your Son battled with the powers of darkness,
and grew closer to you in the desert:
help us to use these days to grow in wisdom and prayer
that we may witness to your saving love
in Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

Holy Habits – Bible Teaching

Think of a Bible story that you have always found difficult, confusing or troubling. Read it through slowly, and ask God to help you hear him speaking to you through the passage. Use the ideas in this month’s newsletter to help you read it. Tell God what bothers you about it, and try to hear him speaking to you in your thoughts, imagination and feelings.

Sunday Services

Following the government announcement about a further national lockdown, sadly we will not be offering public worship, baptisms or weddings until things improve.

All of our worship will be online, available each Sunday on the website, our facebook group and YouTube. For more details please see our Coronavirus update page.

Upcoming Services

Sunday 28th February – Lent 2
11am Online Morning Worship

Please pray for

The sick, among them Anthony Gibson Watt and all affected by the coronavirus.

Pray for the NHS, care workers and all front line workers and volunteers. We pray for race equality and for all victims of race crime and brutality. Pray for everyone shielding on their own or unable to be with their family.

Remember all those who have died recently. We remember those whose anniversary of death occurs at this time including Paula Clarke, Margaret Cann, Iain Gordon.

Taking it in turns to pray for each other – this week we pray for St Kew.

The Julian Group

We return to our Julian Meetings on the last Thursday in the month, still having to meet in our individual homes at 7pm, as we still cannot meet face to face. The readings for Thursday 25th are: Proverbs 28 v 13, Matthew 6 v 1-18.

Home Groups and Daily Prayer

Our Home Groups are staying in touch via phone, email and social media. We are praying regularly, especially at 9am. If you would like hard copies of spiritual resources, or need help getting on to facebook, please contact
Revd Rose (01208 592353 – revrosejones@gmail.com).
