Sunday 13th December –
Third Sunday of Advent

Additional Collect

God for whom we watch and wait,
you sent John the Baptist to prepare the way of your Son:
give us courage to speak the truth,
to hunger for justice,
and to suffer for the cause of right,
with Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

Holy Habits –  Fellowship

Most films this time of year will on one level or another have themes of friendship, fellowship, and fall & redemption.   Make a list of the films you watch and give them ratings on how well they represent these themes. Read Isaiah 61.1-4 and rate how well the films represent this ideology. Prayerful review your list before you take your Christmas decorations down.

The Julian Group and anyone who would like to join us, meets each in our own home at 7pm every Thursday. We light a candle and read a passage from the Bible followed by silence. Then we read the second passage followed by silence and ending with Compline or our own prayers. Different members choose the readings each week. The next meeting is on Thursday 17th December.

Please pray for

The sick, among them Claudia Tom and all affected by the coronavirus.

Pray for the NHS, care workers and all front line workers and volunteers. We pray for race equality and for all victims of race crime and brutality.

Remember all those who have died recently including Margaret Armstrong,Jane Windeler and Olive Hampton. We remember those whose anniversary of death occurs at this time including Ian Warne.

Taking it in turns to pray for each other – this week we pray for St Peter’s.
